Hey y'all! My name is Caitlin Young and I am a queer interdisciplinary artist working with fiber, light, and video living in Austin, Texas. I create across many different mediums, from video installations to woven tapestries to sculptures using yarn and LEDs to naturally dyed goods.
I attended Rice University, graduating with Distinction in Visual and Dramatic Arts, specializing in Photography/Film, while also exploring philosophy, sociology, and women and gender studies. My work has been featured in the East Austin Studio Tour, several DIY and student art shows, as well as in book form in Fondren Library. I was also the recipient of the Mavis C. Pitman Memorial Prize in the Arts.
Since moving to Austin, I've worked as a teaching artist, primarily in elementary schools, creating and facilitating curriculum for both after school and school day arts integrated programs. Here's a link to my CV
